The scholarship programme was launched in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. According to the writing and publishing company, the goal is to support children whose parents may be struggling to pay school fees because of the current economic challenges in the country. The programme is also focused on encouraging children to stay in school and continue learning despite financial difficulties.

Speaking during the launch, the Chief Operations Officer of Sabi Writers, Felix Ukattah, said education is one of the strongest tools for building a better society. He explained that the scholarship is not only about paying school fees, but also about giving children hope and confidence in their future.

The COO said, ‘Education helps children grow into responsible adults and future leaders. We want to support these children and help them achieve their dreams.’

He continued as he explained that many talented children are unable to continue their education because their families cannot afford the costs of schooling. According to him, the company decided to take action by supporting children who are willing to learn but lack financial support. He added that businesses should not only focus on making profits, but also look for ways to give back to society.

The first phase of the programme supported 30 children in selected schools within Alimosho, Lagos and will be expanding to 100 children in 2026. The beneficiaries will receive help with tuition fees and learning materials. This assistance is expected to reduce the burden on parents and guardians who are finding it difficult to meet the rising costs of education.

Sabi Writers said the scholarship programme is part of the company’s effort to make a positive impact in society outside the writing industry.
