The session, which forms a major part of the company’s structured leadership program, brought together writers, editors, designers, content creators, and unit managers in a shared learning environment to strengthen team performance and individual capacity. It was originally designed by the CEO, Mr Chinonso Ogbogu, and championed by the Head of Learning, Ms Bethany Chijindu, to train skilled professionals who are capable of becoming industry leaders in Nigeria’s competitive market.

The session features teaching, interactive discussions, and real-world case studies. Speaking during the session, the CEO highlighted the importance of developing a strong workplace leadership culture in which collaboration and determination drive success.

The session also included Fireside Chat sessions, in which appointed staff members were divided into groups to analyse common workplace issues. Each participant was tasked with proposing practical solutions that could improve efficiency within the organisation.

A key highlight of the session was the reflection exercise, where staff were asked to identify one thing that stood out to them from the teaching. This exercise formed part of Sabi Writers’ commitment to helping staff develop self-awareness and intentionality in their daily responsibilities.

Afterwards, staff members described the session as insightful and necessary for workplace growth. One participant shared that the session reshaped her understanding of responsibility in a professional environment. In her words, “It made me realise that leadership is not about position, but about a sense of ownership even in my present role.”

Another staff member emphasised the importance of this training to him by saying, “Having this session every month has helped me stay aligned with my team members. It helps me to be able to correct my small mistakes before they become bigger issues that can affect our work quality.

The session concluded with a commitment exercise in which each staff member was required to document their professional goals and training reviews for the next month. This ensures that the Head of Learning, Miss Bethany Chijindu, continues to follow through and reiterate the company’s values in the next session.

Also, the organisation’s management reaffirmed that the monthly leadership mentoring session will remain a permanent feature of staff development at Sabi Writers. This serves as part of its long-term vision for capacity building in Nigeria’s workforce. In addition, future sessions are expected to cover topics such as domination frameworks for companies and advanced business strategy.

Hence, as Sabi Writers continues to grow as the leading and most impactful content agency in Africa, the organisation remains committed to investing in its people as its most valuable asset. Through consistent leadership mentorship, Sabi Writers aims to improve its service delivery, enhance work quality, and position itself as a top-rated brand in the African creative writing and publishing industry.
